Patsy, as she was was commonly known, was the daughter of Thomas Jenkins and Elizabeth Cline.

She married George Washington Brendle on 07 Nov 1875 in Swain County, NC. Performed by: J.M. Smiley, Baptist Minister in Charleston Township. Henry Taylor Jenkins, J. Wiggins and P.H. Mason, witnesses. They would make their home in the Alarka Community, raising their family there.

Twelve children would be born to this union: Nancy Jane, Martha Palestine, Thomas Henry, William Manly, Josephine, John Wesley, Rosa L, Flora May, George Robert, Julius C, Sarah Charlotte and Fred Fisher Brendle.

She is last reflected in the 29 Apr 1930 Swain County Census, living in the home of her daughter, Charlotte "Lottie" (Brendle) Cochran and husband, Sam.

She was 75-years of age.

Discrepancy: Her headstone incorrectly reflects her date of birth as 15 Jan 1847. Historical records indicate she was born in 1856. She is first found in the 1860 census, age 4. On her marriage license, she is age 19, when she and George were married.
