Services were held June 8th, for Emma D. Bentz, 83, at St. Peter's Lutheran in Snyder. Rev. Kenneth Funke officiated at the 10 AM services. Karilyn Alberts was Organist. Hymns sung by congregation were "What a Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Just As I Am". Visitation was Monday from 4, 9 p.m. at the funeral home in Dodge. Emma Bentz died Sunday, June 6th at the Good Samaritan Home in Scribner. Emma was born on March 31, 1899 at Dodge. Her parents were John W. and Annie (Kempf) Bentz. She attended Synder schools and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran in Snyder and Ladies Aid.
Emma never married. She was a practical nurse, and lived in Snyder all her life until becoming a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Scribner in 1977,Survivors include one nephew Nile Kienbaum, Scribner and four nieces: Mrs. Ralph (Cherie) Taylor, Fremont, Mrs. Larry (Roxanne) Mead, Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Virgil (Nola) Schulenberg, Eugene, Oregon, Mrs. Roger (Nita) Holmes, Millard, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John W. and Clarence E. Bentz, one sister, Theresa Bentz, one nephew, Neil Kienbaum. Burial was in the Snyder cemetery. Pall Bearers were Marvin Mead, Larry Mead, Ralph Taylor, Nile Kienbaum, Delwin Smeal and Donald Smeal. Humlicek Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
