Funeral For Mrs. Sam A. Rossier Held Wednesday
Mrs. Sam A. Rossier of 127 Riverside Drive, Sunnyside was fatally injured early Friday evening, March 10 near Prosser. Mrs. Rossier was 66 years of age and was born in Muscatine, Iowa.
Her early years were spent in Spokane where she attended elementary and high school. Following her marriage to A. J. Brouillard they moved to Alaska for several years. When they returned to Washington they went into business in Wapato before moving to Sunnyside where they lived until the fatal passing of Mr. Brouillard in 1937.
Continuing to make her home in Sunnyside Mrs. Marie Brouillard worked for the Sunnyside Sun and later owned and operated a ladies ready to wear shop.
Following her marriage to Sam Rossier, a prominent Sunnyside businessman, she continued to live here. Mrs. Rossier took an active interest in community affairs being vice president of the Republican Women's Club, State Committeewoman for Yakima County and was very active in the Sunnyside Garden Club. She was also an active member of the Christian Science Church Board, and as chairman of the church building committee.
Members of the Sunnyside Police Department, the Washington State Patrol, the Yakima County Sheriff's Office and of the Sunnyside Garden Club attended in a group in the capacity of a special honor guard. Following the services here Mrs. Marie A. Rossier was taken to Seattle where entombment was in the Acacia Mausoleum under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.
