"Pang" was born in Chesterfield County, SC on June 20, 1921, a daughter of the late Franklin and Bessie Clanton Steen. She was married to the late James L. Adams. She had worked for Little Cotton Mfg., McLean's Dress Shop and as the Activity Director for the Wadesboro Nursing Home.

Survivors include two sons, James "Jim" Adams and Tim (Donna) Adams both of Wadesboro; four grandchildren, Colby Adams, Leslie Ridgeway, Shane (Lori) Adams, Suzanne (Tommy) Harris; and 4 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Fred (Betty) Steen of Concord and Robert Steen of Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Adams.
