RUSSELL THOMPSON DIES IN HOSPITAL

Russell R. Thompson, 58, a prominent Elroy farmer, died Sunday, June 16, 1968, in a Madison hospital after brain surgery.

Born on a farm west of Elroy, he was employed as a fieldman for the Wisconsin Dairies, Union Center. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Juneau County Board for 21 years and served as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee for 15 years. He was a member of the National Holstein Assn, and the Elroy Fair Board and was a cattle judge.

Survivors are his wife, the former Beulah Vieth; two sons, Wayne Lexington, N.C.; Dale, stationed in Germany; a daughter, Suann, at home; four brothers, Dr. Roland and Clayton, Elroy; Arthur, Red Granite; and Gerald, Burbank, Calif; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Buchanan, Mauston; Mrs. Harry Heding Sr. and Mrs. Ray Heding, Union Center; and Mrs. Clayton Custer, Madison; and four grandchildren.

The funeral was a 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elroy Community Church. Friends called at the Zenner Funeral Home.
