Mercy died May 23, 1842. Rev. Wentz was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference 1828 Oneida Conference at organization 1829 Discontinued 1830. He served Binghamton and Waverly, New York. Rev. Wentz was known as a abolitionist.
