Son of Johann Peter Wentz and Margaret RoseRev. Peter Wentz was the son of John Peter and Margaret (Rose) Wentz. He was the brother of Wells Wentz. Peter was the husband of Mercy (Green) Wentz. Mercy died May 23, 1842. Rev. Wentz was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference 1828 Oneida Conference at organization 1829 Discontinued 1830. He served Binghamton and Waverly, New York. Rev. Wentz was known as a abolitionist.
