Wesley C. Uhl, 76, of Columbus, passed away peacefully at home after a battle with cancer, October 20, 2011. Born October 18, 1935 in Massillon, Ohio, he was the only child of the late Edgar and Nora Uhl. Wes graduated from Massillon Washington High School, class of 1953. He attended Ohio University where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau social fraternity and graduated from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy. While there, he was a member of Phi Delta Chi professional fraternity. He was active in the pharmacy profession for 45 years with his happiest years as owner of Northland Medical Pharmacy. He was a member of the Central Ohio Academy of Pharmacy, life member of Sertoma International, and an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the OSU Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. Predeceased by daughter, Beth, Wes is survived by devoted wife of 52 years, Gail; adored daughter, Sandra Lass of Strongsville, Ohio, and grandson, Garrett Lass also of Strongsville; brother-in-law, Bill Havens; former sister-in-law, Nancy Eberhardt; nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Bill and Nancy Demidovich and John and Lila Marshall. As per his wishes, following cremation, there will be visiting hours on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Columbus (Just south of I-270). There will be a private interment for immediate family following the service.
Cremated, Location of ashes is unknown.
