Peter followed his brothers west. He was first in Butte, MT, then Wilbur WA, then he made a horse drive into Canada where he met his wife. Bertha's parents were running a boarding house and Bertha told her children in later years "He was the most handsome man I had ever met!" They were married on July 15, 1895 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. After marriage, they returned to Butte, MT where he worked in the copper mines from 1895-1906. They then returned to Edmonton, Canada where he lived and farmed the rest of his life. They also owned a home within the city of Edmonton.
