WHITEVILLE— Jackson Ward, 80, native of Columbus County, died Monday. He was a native of the Cypress Creek section of Columbus County but had lived on the Wilmington Highway, Fayetteville for the past 2 1/2 years. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Cypress Creek Baptist Church in Columbus County with burial in the Hosea Simmons Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ida Ward; four sons, Lewis of Milwaukee, Wis., Ben Davis and Roger Dail all of Fayetteville; three daughters, Mrs. Missouri Jones, Mrs. Hazel Harrelson and Mrs. Blance Marie Ward, all of Whiteville; one brother, Simon Ward of Whiteville Rt. 3; and two sisters, Mrs. H. K. Ward of Whiteville and Mrs. Tobe Ward of the Bethel area of Columbus County.
