Paul Rieger of Blair Passed Away Sunday

Friends here received word that Paul W. Rieger, 47, died Sunday morning at his home in Blair, Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Louise, one daughter, Mrs. Robert Theal of Omaha, Nebraska. Two sisters, Mrs. Marie Slobodny of Kearney, Nebraska and Mrs. Paul Jacobsen of Oakland, California.

Services were held at 9 am Tuesday at St. Francis Borgia Church in Blair. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Paul was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rieger, former residents of Wolbach. He grew to manhood here. Following his marriage to Louise Blaha of St. Paul, they lived on a farm in Howard county a few years. Later living in Kearney and then in Omaha. The past year they have resided in Blair where he was an auto firm official.

PAUL RIEGER DIED SUNDAY

OFFICIAL OF NEBRASKA-IOWA SUPPLY CO. DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Paul W. Rieger, 47, of 408 West Nebraska Street, who was in charge of the tire sales department of the Nebraska-Iowa Supply Co. of this city, died at his home Sunday at 8 a.m. from a cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Rieger had been ill since last fall with cancer, but was able to continue his business activities until a week before his death.

The body was taken to the Campbell Mortuary, where the rosary was recited Monday evening. The Rev. Edward C. O'Donnell officiated at the Requiem High Mass at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church at 9 a.m. Monday, and interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery here. Pallbearers were fellow associates in business: Frank Drbal, L.G. Faltys, L.L. Snyder, Lou Serian(word partially obscured), Frank Lien and Ed Schroeder.

Mr. Rieger and his wife had come to Blair just over a year ago from Omaha, Mr. Rieger joining the staff of L.L. Snyder's Nebraska-Iowa Supply Co. The Riegers had only recently moved into their new home on West Nebraska Street.

Paul William Rieger was born at Dawson, Nebr., June 29, 1903. He and Louise Blaha of St. Paul, Nebr., were married at St. Paul Apr. 30, 1924.

Surviving Mr. Rieger are his wife, Louise; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Flearl (Alice); his son-in-law, Mr. Flearl; a granddaughter, Paula Flearl; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Slobodny of Kearney and Mrs. Paul Jacobson of Oakland, Calif.; an uncle, George Rothenburger of Poole, Nebr., and an aunt, Miss Angeline Rothenburger of Kearney.

PAUL W. RIEGER DIED SUNDAY

Paul W. Rieger died Sunday morning at his home in Blair at 8:30 o'lock following an illness of seven months.

Deceased was forty seven years of age and was born in Dawson, Nebraska where he lived for some time. In 1924 he was married, the ceremony being performed at St. Paul, Nebraska.

One daughter, Mrs. Robert Flearl, lives in Omaha and she and her mother, Mrs. Louise Rieger, with his two sisters, one living in Kearney and one in Oakland, California are the survivors.

Mr. Rieger was a tire salesman for the Iowa-Nebraska Oil Company and had resided in Blair for thirteen months.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the St. Francis Borgia Church in Blair, and interment under the supervision of the Campbell Mortuary was made in the Blair cemetery.
