G. Melvin Beers Funeral Wednesday
G. Melvin Beers, 82, Concordia, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 1992, at St. Joseph Hospital in Concordia.
Mr. Beers was born to Joseph and Pearl Martin Beers on March 1, 1910, in Glasco.
He attended schools at Glasco. He had been a Concordia resident since the early 1940's. He worked for the Concordia Ice Co., and then the Cloud County Highway Department. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, both of Concordia.
He was married to Pearl Reeves Nov. 16, 1932 at Huscher, Kans. She preceded him in death July 23, 1987.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, one brother and a grandson.
Survivors include a son, LeRoy, Kansas City, KS; two daughters, Florene Corliss, Parsons, and Sharon Austin, Kansas City, KS; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, Concordia, the Revs. Burr Crickard and Ed Fuller officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
Memorials may be made to the Concordia Trinity United Methodist Church.
