| Birth: | Jun. 23, 1922 | | Death: | Feb. 3, 2004 |  Acclaimed Actor and Director. One of Sweden´s leading actors on stage and screen through 55 years. He had a very personal style, and became a mentor for many actors. He also was an appreciated professor and pedagogue. His most noted role on film was as the drunk father in Bo Widerberg´s ”Kvarteret Korpen” (Raven´s End, 1963). Other noted films are ”Nattlek” (1966) where he played against Ingrid Thulin and Max von Sydow, and Bille August´s ””Den Goda Viljan” (1992). In 1999 he recieved the O´Neill Award at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. He also was an acknowledged interpreter of August Strindberg´s plays.
