The daughter of Ray Sandford and Mary Ida Nunn Scroggins, Janet married Junior Denning on July 8, 1950, in Cave, Ky. He died Jan. 1, 2002.

She also was preceded in death by four brothers, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Surviving are four sons, Perry (and Tammie), Junior II, James and George (and Dianne); six daughters, Jeanie Calwell, Carolyn (and Kenneth) Wheat, Alice (and Larry) Sours, Mary (and Michael) Revelle, Debra Fraziar and Rose (and John) Butler; 32 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John (and Emily) Scroggins; and one sister, Bonnie Ward.

She worked as a cashier and bookkeeper for SupeRx drug store in Canton, retiring Oct. 16, 1982, after eight years.

She was the leader of Melotones Choir, a senior citizens choir, and 60-plus Kitchen Band since 1994.

She was a member of Assembly of God Church.

Cremation will be accorded and burial will be in White Chapel Memory Garden.
