Mrs. Huffman, Dies Suddenly, Heart Attack
Widow of Late D. J. Huffman Passes Away Saturday Afternoon at Home South of City
Mrs. Clara Huffman, 63, widow of the late D. J. Huffman, passed away at her home southeast of Taylorville about 3:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon following an attack of heart trouble suffered shortly after noon Saturday. Mrs. Huffman became suddenly ill about 12:15 o'clock and all efforts to revive her proved futile.
Mrs. Huffman was born in Missouri November 26, 1868, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Skinner. She was married to D. J. Huffman March 17, 1890 and they came to Christian County twenty-five years ago. Her husband preceded her in death April 12th of last year.
She is survived by two daughters and one son. They are: Orvie L. Huffman, Ivy Huffman and Mrs. Grace Micenheimer, all at home. One grandson Merle Micenheimer and one brother Wesley Skinner of Nokomis also survive.
The body was removed to the Chesnut and Pearce Funeral Home where it was prepared for burial and the funeral was held from the First Methodist Church in this city at 2 o'clock this afternoon, in charge of Rev. C. W. Hamand, the pastor. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
