Sister M. Justin CSC, 90, of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent, South Bend, died at 11:05 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born Grace Scroggins on Jan. 2, 1890 in Essex, Ill., she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Sept. 13, 1918. She was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1919 and professed her final vows on Aug. 15, 1921. She served as a teacher in several elementary schools, including St. Joseph, St. Mary's and St. Patrick's in South Bend, as well as throughout Indiana, Illinois, California and Texas. She resided at Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent since 1970. She is survived by a brother Leo of Kankakee, Ill.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, St. Mary's. Friends may call today of Holy Cross Convent and after 4 p.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Convent, St. Mary's, where a wake will be observed at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
