Arthur Wilson Huggins was the first born child of James T. and Sarah A. (Reid) Huggins. His middle name Wilson was taken from a maternal uncle named Wilson Reid (1823 Ireland - 1867 Cincinnati, OH).
Wilson Reid was a brother of Arthur's paternal grandfather Robert Reid. Wilson, his wife Rachel, and their family are in the 1870 Cincinnati census as Wilson REED. Wilson is also buried at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Arthur W. Huggins first married Agnes L. MNU. She died in July 1956 at their home in New Jersey. He next married Bertha (Delade) Breen.
In the 1900 census Arthur is a salesman living in Cincinnati, Ohio.
In October 1929, a month after his brother Miller Huggins' death, Arthur was living in Middletown, Orange Co., New Jersey.
The 1930 census reveals Arthur and wife Agnes were living in Fair Lawn, Bergen Co., New Jersey.
On August 8, 1940, Arthur registered at the National Baseball Museum and Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. His registration document shows he was living in Passaic Co., New Jersey. Arthur was the moving force behind the induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame of his brother Miller in 1964.
