Robert E. Albritton
Robert E. Albritton, 75, died Oct. 26 at home.
He was a lifelong resident of Savannah and attended local schools. He was a deacon of Thunderbolt Baptist Church for 35 years and taught the Tom Lewis Men's Sunday School Class. At the time of his death, he was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was a 50-year member of Thunderbolt Masonic Lodge No. 693, Emeritus.
He retired from the 165th Airlift Wing of the Georgia Air National Guard after 33 years. While in the National Guard, he served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a full-time technician at Travis Field with the civil service and a member of the Savannah Association of Flying Air National Guard.
SURVIVORS: his wife, Louise K. Albritton of Savannah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Terry A. and Charles Freeman of Ocala, Fla., and Debbie A. and Sandy Sanders of Richmond Hill; a brother, Ralph C. Albritton Jr. of Augusta; two grandsons, Jeff and Bobby Sanders, both of Richmond Hill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. Thursday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
FUNERAL: 2 p.m. Friday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, burial in Bonaventure Cemetery with full military honors.
