Anthony R. "Tony" Canadeo
Birth: May 5, 1919
Death: Nov. 29, 2003

Professional Football Player. He was a star halfback with the Green Bay Packers in the 1940s and 1950s. He was given the nickname the "Grey Ghost" while playing college ball at Gonzaga. He was the third player in pro football history to rush for 1000 yards in one season when he gained 1052 yards for the Packers in 1949. He missed the 1945 season due to military service. He was the second member of the Packers to have his number retired -3- and was probably one of the best all-around players in Packer history. He still is the fourth leading rusher in Packer history. In 1974 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  (bio by: Ron Moody)
