Son of Andrew Skoog & Marie (Erickson) Skoog. Married to Augusta Delander on May 13, 1882 in Chicago. A L Skoog was a noted composer and hymnwriter in the Evangelical Covenant Church. They erected a special monument to him in the cemetery.
