Imogene Altmyer, 84, of Laurel, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at South Central Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, January 13, 2012 at Memory Chapel with burial to follow at Lake Park Hills Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Hood will officiate.
Mrs. Altmyer was a retired nurse and co-founder of A & A Growers. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. J. N. Altmyer; son, William Joseph "Josey" Altmyer; grandson, James Nicholas "Jay" Altmyer; and mother, Ethel Burgess.
Survivors include her son, Joseph Nicholas Altmyer, II of Hattiesburg; daughter, Marcia Bush and husband Johnny of Laurel; grandson, Dr. Chad S. Altmyer and wife Betsy of Columbus; granddaughters, Nichole Bush and husband Kyle of Hattiesburg and Cori Bush of Laurel; and five great grandchildren, Steele, Luke and Whit Altmyer and Carter and Matthew Bush.
In lieu of flowers, contributions or memorial gifts may be made to the Altmyer Family Scholarship Fund, Jones County Junior College Foundation, 900 South Court Street, Ellisville, MS 39437.
Visitation will be held from 11 am until service time on Friday, January 13 at Memory Chapel of Laurel which is in charge of the arrangements.
