MINDEN, La. — Funeral services for Bufford A. Monday, 79, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Bistineau Baptist Church in Heflin, La. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery near Keatchie, La. Officiating the services will be the Rev. Clyde Thompson and the Rev. Bill Crider.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today, January 10, 2012, at Rockett Funeral Home in Ringgold, La.
Mr. Monday was born November 16, 1932, in Wood County, Winnsboro, Texas, to Charlie Dee Monday and Zelma Lee Monday. He went to be with the Lord January 7, 2012.
Mr. Monday is preceded in death by his father, Charlie Monday, and his mother Zelma Monday; his sister, Jackie Acker, and brother-in-law, Jesse Acker; along with his sister, Norma Brooks.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Monday of Minden, La.; sons, Mark Monday and his wife, Gwen, of Heflin, La., David Monday of Heflin, La., James Monday and his wife, Sandy, of Heflin, La., and D.J. Monday and his wife, Emily, of Shreveport, La.; grandchildren, Megan, Holly and Lucas Monday, Jennifer and Tylere Monday, Michael Monday and his wife, Edie, Koty and Cassey Monday, and McKenzie Monday; great-grandchildren, Baylor, Macy and Mabrie; brothers, Mack Monday and his wife, Toby, of Kilgore, Texas, and Charles Jr. "Tex" Monday and his wife, Sherry, of Lee Summit, Mo.; sister, Beth Griffin and her husband, Joe, of Longview, Texas; a special friend and neighbor, Virginia Kirkikis; along with a host of other relatives and close friends.
Pallbearers will be Lucas Monday, Koty Monday, Tylere Monday, Michael Monday, Mike Bagley and Jeff Thrasher.
