Sophie Akscyn

Mrs. Sophie (Akstin) Akscyn, wife of the late Charles Akscyn of 122 Intervale St., died at her home after having been in failing health for some time.
A communicant of St. Casimir's Church, Mrs. Akscyn settled in Brockton after coming from her native Lithuania 60 years ago. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Benevolent Society of St. Casimir's Church. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.
She leaves a son, Julius of Boston, and a daughter, Josephine, at home. She is survived by two grandsons, James Hughes of Brockton and Robert Akscyn of Indonesia; a granddaughter, Mrs. Robert (Patricia) Fralick of Brockton, five grandchildren and a step brother, Rocco Akscyn of Methuen.
The funeral will be from the Yakavonis Funeral Home, 789 North Main St., Wednesday at 8 A. M. followed by a Solemn High Mass of Requiem at St. Casimir's Church at 9. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Sophia Akscyn

The funeral of Sophia (Akstin) wife of the late Charles Akscyn of 122 Intervale St., was held this morning from the Yakavonis Funeral Home, 789 North Main St., followed by a Solemn High Mass of Requiem in St. Casimir's Church. The Mass was sung by Rev. Anthony Kneizys, with Rev. Laurier Martineau of Sacred Heart Church as deacon and Rev. Simeon Saulenas of the Immaculate Conception Church, Cambridge, as subdeacon. Mrs. Stephanie Ventrie was organist and soloist. Fr. Kneizys held the committal service at the graveside in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery.
