Araunah Willis, son of Nehimiah and Hannah Willis born in Taunton Bristol County, Mass. He was born September 20, 1787. He filed an intent to marry September 14,1811, Lydia Shaw daughter of Daniel Shaw and Betsey Round Shaw. She was born April 5,1791 in Rehoboth. He married Lydia on October 24,1811 in Taunton. They were married by George Walker Esq. They had five children; Lydia Willis born July 19,1812; Polly Willis born September 10,1814; Twin daughters, Elizabeth and Hannah Willis born April 3, 1816 and one son Araunah Shaw Willis, born August 18,1818 all in Taunton, Bristol
County,Massachusetts. Araunah my G-G-G Grandfather, is buried in the same cemetery as my Great Great Great Grandmother's father Daniel Shaw, who died Sept.30,1800. After Araunah's death December 8, 1830 the widow and children moved to Baker's Creek, Angelica New York. Their son married Abigail Newville, she went by De Neuville in the family but she was the daughter of John and Patience (Sheldon) Newville.Their daughter's all married men here in Allegany County, New York. Lydia married Daniel Phippen Sr. Polly married Joseph Sanford Sr. Hannah married Simeon Smith and Elizabeth married Henry James Wagner.
