On Monday of last week Mr. J. R. Carroll of Cherokee Falls, S. C., and Miss Florilla C. Allen of Route 1 were married in this city which was quite a surprise to the neighbors. Mrs. Carroll is a woman of high moral character. Mr. Carroll has for years held a responsible position with the Broad River Cotton mill. After Nov. 1 they will be at home at Cherokee Falls.

Mrs. Floriella Allen Carroll, 76, died Thursday night at her home on Waynesville, RFD 1, after a long illness. Surviving are the husband, Julius Ross Carroll; one sister, Mrs. Cora Allen Trammell of Waynesville, RFD 1; three nieces and five nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced announced by Crawford Funeral Home.
