George Taylor was a Private in the United States Colored Infantry 125th Regiment, Company E. He is also listed on the African American Civil War Memorial in Washington DC. His plaque No. is D-131.

The 125th Regiment Infantry was Organized at Louisville, Ky., February 12 to June 2, 1865. Garrison and guard duty at Louisville, Ky., and other points in the Dept. of Kentucky until December, 1867. Mustered out December 20, 1867.
