Susan J. Lambright, 81, former Litchfield resident, died Monday, November 3, 2003, at her new residence in Kalamazoo.
She was born January 12, 1922, in Mattawan, to Frank and Gail Sackett.
Mrs. Lambright graduated from Litchfield Community Schools, where she made several lifelong friends. She attended Cleary Business School in Ypsilanti.
She married Samuel D. Lambright on September 9, 1945, and they had recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. He survives.
Mrs. Lambright worked a an accountant for Quincy Community Schools for 30 years, retiring in 1983. She was a resident of Quincy for more than 55 years and was an active member of Quincy United Methodist Church during that period. She cherished life, family, music and her religious faith. She loved gatherings that brought family together and enjoyed watching her descendants mature.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Sarah; a son, Donald; a son-in-law, Alan Himebaugh; three granddaughters, Gaye M. (Coolman) Aaberg, Julia G. Lambright and Lace D. Lambright; two grandsons, Jason B. Coolman and Adam L. Lambright; three great-grandchildren, Chase Coolman, Cameron Aaberg and Emma Aaberg; a brother, Dr. John (Reta) Sackett, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lambright was preceded in death by a brother Charles (Rebecca) Sackett, and two sisters, Mary (Robert) Brummitt and Marvel (Harold) Reiher.
A graveside memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, November 5) at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Litchfield.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Quincy United Methodist Church.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the George White Funeral Home in Litchfield.
