Birdie D. Johnston

Funeral services for Mrs. Birdie D. Johnston, 83, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, May 12, 2000, at Rose-Neath Chapel in Minden with the Rev. Raymond Sewell officiating, assisted by the Rev. Don McCormick. Burial will be at noon in Centuries Memorial Cemetery in Shreveport under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Minden. She died Tuesday, May 9 in Minden.

Mrs. Johnston resided in Minden and was a retired insurance agent with Sec. Industrial Life Insurance Co., and was a member of Sheppard Heights Assembly of God Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert A. Johnston. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Johnston of Dixie Inn, and Donna Holland and husband Billy of Sibley; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral home visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m., today, May 11 and from 7 a.m. until time of service, Friday, May 12 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden.
