Mary L. "Toots" Buchanan, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Hancock Regional Hospital.
Born June 18, 1924 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of James and Allie (Kidd) Williams.
She graduated from Morristown High School in 1942.
Mary worked as an executive secretary for Conseco Insurance for many years.
She was a member of the Morristown Christian Church, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and was a decedent of George Slater II, who fought in the Revolutionary War.
Surviving her are her daughter, Laura (Keith) Rodebeck of New Palestine; grandchildren, Karli and Kyle Rodebeck of New Palestine; sister-in-law, Virginia Williams of Morristown; and nephews, Terry and James Toon of Franklin.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Sherman Williams and Noble Williams; sisters, Mae Eades and Edna Toon Moore; niece, Jackie Johnson; nephew, Richard Toon; half-sisters, Estel (Kenton) Myers and Verda (Williams) Wagner; and half-brothers, Edgar Kenton, Albert Kenton, and Clancy Williams.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Morristown Christian Church.
Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday, also at the church, with Pastors James Coyle and Fred Hickman and Brother Bill Farmer officiating.
A private burial will take place at Asbury Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Imagination Library, in care of Morristown Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 476, Morristown, IN 46161.
