Harold W. Jenkins

Harold Winston Jenkins was born August 2,1942 in Union Hospital, Elkton, Maryland to the late Clarence and Amanda Elizabeth Pierce Jenkins.

He departed this life on December 26,2011 in Christina Hospital, Christina, DE.

He received his early education at Levi J. Coppin School in Elkton, Maryland. He also attended George Washington High School, Elkton, Maryland.

He united in holy matrimony to Melvina Wesley with the blessings of 29 years on December 3rd.

He worked at the following: Tidewatering Co. in Cecilton, MD; Tide Water Refinery in Delaware City; Bakery, Globe Battery Plant in Middletown, DE, and Delaware State Hospital in New Castle, DE for 31 years where he retired.

He joined Rehoboth Church of God Apostolic where he loved praising the Lord, giving his testimonies of how the goodness of the Lord had truly blessed him. He was a loyal member to his pastor. His favorite hymn was "The Battle's Not Yours It's The Lords" which was his testimony. He served as a member of the Brotherhood Club.

He loved baseball, boxing, loved his wife, Melvina, adopted daughters, Angelica/Punkin, Damijta;daughter, Nicole, grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed many friends whom he worked with at Delaware State Hospital.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Melvina Jenkins; two adopted daughters, Angelica Wesley ~ Elkton, MD and Damijta Bailey ~ New Castle, DE; daughter Nicole Fletcher ~ Newark, DE; six sisters, Josephine Christy ~ Elkton, MD, Gladys McCloud (Buster) ~ Elizabeth, NJ, Jeanette Hunter (Gus) ~ Brooklyn, NY, Linda May ~ Elkton, MD and MaryAnn Vazquez (Pedro) ~ Clayton, DE; one brother, Calvin Jenkins (Barbra) ~ Middletown, DE; devoted nephew/brother, James Jenkins (Jacqueline); five adopted grandchildren; ten sisters~in~law; nine brothers~in~laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other friends.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 31,2011 in Rehoboth Church of God in Christ Jesus Apostolic, Middletown, Del. Interment will be in Union Bethel Cemetery, Cecilton, MD. Funeral Arrangements by BENNIE SMITH FUNERAL HOME
