Son of Francis "Frank" W. LESTER and Isabel Mae DOONAN Lester. He married Bertha Pearl JACKSON 19 Aug 1916 in Dexter, Jefferson Co., New York. They had seven children: Thelma, Betty, Frank, William, Robert, Jack, and Mike.

Charles Lester Dead, Aged 69
Felts Mills man, Long ill dies in nursing home Rites Saturday.
Felts Mills, Oct 26 Charles W. Lester, 69, of Felts Mills, died Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. in the Hillcrest nursing home, Adams, where he had been a patient since June 1959.
Mr. Lester had suffered from diabetic condition for several years.
The funeral will be Sat. at 2:00 p.m. at the Clark funeral home, Black River, with Rev. Thomas W. Chapman, paster of the First Church of Christ, officiating. Buriel will be in Black River cemetary. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday afternoon and evening.
Mr. Lester is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha P. Lester, Newark; two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Thelma) Jennings, Albuquerque N.M., and Mrs. Clifford (Betty) Sly, Black River; four sons, Frank M. and Jack E., both of Rochester, William K., Boston Mass., and Vernon L., Felts Mills.; his mother, Mis Isabel Lester; two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Aldrich and Mrs. Arthur (Alma) Bennett, all of watertown; four brothers, Frank, Watertown; Fred, Skaneateles Falls, and Lial and Clarence both of Syracuse, 15 grandchildren and four great-granchildren.
Mr. Lester was born April 23, 1892 at Bay City, Michigan, son of Frank W. and Isabel Doonas Lester. At the age of eight, he settled with his parents at Felts Mills.
He married the former Bertha Pearl Jackson, Aug. 19, 1916 at Dexter. Rev. Arthur T. Cort, Methodist minister, performed the ceremony.
Mr. Lester worked as a grinerman at Sherman Paper company at Felts Mills until the plant closed down in 1937. He stayed there until 1956 and then went to Rochester to live with his son, Frank. He moved to Watertown after a year and was a patient at the Cardinal nursing home until he went to Hillcrest nursing home here.
