Attended Funeral Of Bridger Baby

A number of out-of-town relatives were called to the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Bridger last Saturday by the serious illness of Clarence Newton Bridger, little twenty-months-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bridger, who had been sick for two weeks. He passed away Sunday, August 4, at 4:30 p.m. and was laid to rest Monday morning. Among the out-of-town relatives here were the grandmother, Mrs. M.V. Boswell, uncles and aunts Jim Boswell and Minnie Boswell of Teague, R.M. Boswell and Mr. and Mrs. D.B. Bellah of Brownwood, and Mr. Geo. Bridger, the grandfather and his two sons, Loyd and Aurthur Bridger of Roswell, Texas.

The death angel visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Bridger on Sunday, August 4, and claimed their precious baby, Clarence Newton Bridger, who had been sick for two weeks. All that loving hands and medical aid could possibly do, was done for him, but all in vain, it seems. Little Clarence Newton was born November 24, 1927, and departed this life August 4 at 4:30 p. m. making him twenty months and twelve days old. He left to mourn his sweet little life, his father and mother, one sister and three brothers, a grandmother and grandfather, seven uncles and three aunts.

Clarence Newton was the light of the home only a short while, and now it seems so lonely and dark without him ; but God knew best and called him home.

The funeral services were held Monday morning at 10 o'clock, at the Eleventh Avenue Methodist church, the Rev. G. F. Karnegay, pastor of the church officiating. Palbearers were the following brothers of Mr. and Mrs. Brldger: Henry O. and Robert Boswell, Loyd and Arthur Bridger.

The funeral was directed by the Corley-McMahon Funeral Home and burial was in Oakwood cemetery.

The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Bridger mourn with them in the loss of their sweet baby. May they submit to God's will and realize that there is one more angel in heaven.

"A precious one from us has gone,

A voice we loved is stilled.

A place is vacant in our home

Which never can be filled."

God above has called him and

his soul is safe in heaven.

Written by one who loved him best.
