Former Riverton resident Sherman Gillpatrick died Sunday, July 25, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nev., following a brief illness. He was 77 years old.
Cremation has taken place, and a memorial celebration is planned for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4925 S. Torrey Pines Drive, in Las Vegas. Private burial will be held at a later date.
Sherman Gillpatrick was born in South Dakota on Oct. 6, 1926. After moving to Riverton, he attended Riverton High School and was graduated with the Class of 1945.
Mr. Gillpatrick was a retired carpenter, furniture store manager, and a World War II veteran of the Navy Seabees.
He was the father of Russel Gillpatrick, Sheres Martinez (deceased), and Janette DeCoteau of Riverton. He is survived by his wife, Ann; daughter Gayle Gillpatrick Willis of Las Vegas; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
