Lena Mabe, age 95 of Rogersville, died Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Signature Health Care of Rogersville after an extended illness.
She was a member of Rogersville First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Frances Asbury Sunday School Class. Lena had worked at several local businesses, City Drug, Harry Lackey's and the Sweet Shop. She retired from Hawkins County Memorial Hospital after 13 years of service.
Lena was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Rinda Smith Mabe, brothers, Lynn, Henry and Hugh Mabe.
Survivors include her nephew: Lynn D. Mabe and wife Ruby of Silvis, IL and great niece, Karen Harker and husband, Steve of East Moline, IL. and care giver, Chris Richards of Rogersville.
Calling hours will be 12:00 noon to 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville. Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, December 21, 2011in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jerry Jones and Rev. Waylon Richards officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Signature Health Care for the kind, compassionate, care they provided her during her stay there. Thanks to all the staff and also a wonderful and best friend Chris Richards.
