Lavinia Browning married James M. Wilcox at her family home, Telfare Co. on Nov. 2nd, 1890. They had four children:
Mitchell Monroe Wilcox born in 1894
Margie Barber [Wilcox] born in 1895
Seward R. Wilcox born in 1897
Rhoda Lavada Carter [Wilcox] born in 1899
Since Lavinia died in a Hazelhurst hospital, it is assumed that she's probably buried in or near Hazelhurst. She was a member of the Springfield Methodist Church.
Her brother Lawrence Monroe Browning married Nancy Helen Curry. They are both buried at Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
....Note: Genealogy research below provided by Robert Cushing.
It is believed that she was the daughter of Radford Browning and Martha Caroline Livingston of Telfair County, Georgia. Per the 1860 and 1870 Telfair County Censuses for the household of Radford Browning and Martha Caroline Livingston, Lavinia is listed as "Laura ann" in the 1870 census, but it is believed that she is the same as the Lavinia in the 1860 census. Many of the siblings in her obituary match the siblings in this census. Mrs. N. C. Adams was actually Mollie Browning, wife of Matthias Charles Adams. Her father Radford Browning was the son of George Browning and Lavinia Byrd, hence the repeated names in his children.
....From her obituary....
We miss thee from our home
We miss thee from thy place.
A shadow o'er our life is cast.
We miss the sunshine of thy face.
We miss the kind and willing hand,
Thy fond and earnest care
Our home is dark without thee,
We miss thee everywhere.
