With thankful hearts we pay loving tribute to our wonderful wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend who passed away peacefully on December 20, 2011 surrounded by her family.
Mary Call Dunn, 93, was born November 15, 1918 in Layton, Utah to Irvin and Mary Call. She attended Utah State University, where she met and married the love of her life, Howard Dunn, in the Salt Lake Temple on November 22, 1940. Those who knew them know that you cannot think of one without the other, their great love for each other was evident throughout their life. She was always a great sport and spent more hours than she would have chosen fishing and watching sports.
Mom loved traveling, shopping, cooking, and handwork and was gifted in all of these areas. She was a wonderful example to her posterity of pure testimony and faithful service.
She served in every organization in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but her heart was with the Primary and she proudly said she never graduated. She served as a member of the General Board of the Primary from 1963 to 1974, and as her children, we can testify that she gave her best. She and dad loved their mission together as directors of the St. George Visitors Center Mission from 1986-1987.
Mostly mom was a "people person". She loved whoever she was with and had a way of letting people feel that she really cared. Everyone wants to make a difference in this life, and mom can know that she did; especially in the lives of her posterity of ninety-seven - each one who thought that she loved them "the mostest"!
She is survived by daughters Sharol Walton (Jim), Susan Rigby (Larry), and Mary Jane Hanks (Gordon); son Ronald (Lori); twenty-two grandchildren, and forty-eight great-grandchildren.
We would like to thank the kind and devoted workers at Legacy House, the Cottages, for the wonderful care and service they extended to our mom in her time of greatest need. You are our angels.
