EDITH COWAN, 94, of Memphis, native of Plymouth, England, died Monday at St. Francis Nursing Home after a long illness. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. A World War I war bride, she was a member of English War Brides and St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Mrs. Cowan, the widow of Wallace E. Cowan, leaves three daughters, Grace Barcroft of Memphis, Mollie Avent of Fresno, Calif., and Mary Williams of Tullahoma, Tenn.; two sons, Wallace E. Cowan Jr. of Memphis and J. B. Cowan of Hanford, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. The family requests that any memorials be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
