Mrs. Mildred (Curd) Gearin, 88, of Union City died 6:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Herman Cemetery near Greenfield. Mike Hutchens and Dan Huggins will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. Saturday.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to:Exchange Street Church of Christ, 420 Exchange Street, Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Mrs. Gearin was born May 19, 1922, in Union City, daughter of the late Claud and Eva (Lowrance) Curd. She married James Marvin Gearin on June 30, 1962. He died April 29, 2009. She was a retired operator for Bell South Telephone Company and a member of Exchange Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her niece, Claudia Curd of Nashville; her nephew, Cary Curd of Gallatin; and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Joe Hawkins of Lakeland.

She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Milton Curd.
