Walter Alderson came from Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1876 and homesteaded the SW ¼ Sec. 17 Wall Lake Township. Minnie Clucker was born in 1876 in Dakota Territory. Her parents were caught in a blizzard as they traveled from Ohio to their homestead of SW ¼ Sec. 13, Wellington Township. They overturned their wagon for shelter on a hill overlooking the Minnesota, Iowa, Dakota border, and there Minnie was born. Walter and Minnie were married in 1894 and eight children were born to his union.
