Obituary Notice:
Edith Myrne Wixcel Young
Edith Myrne Wixcel Young was born in Marcus June 28, 1900 and died in Mihvakee on June 6, 1953 where she had lived for the past several years.
She was baptized and received into membership ot the Christian Church at Marcus when she was 10 years old and remained in this faith. She graduated from Marcus High school and Drake University in Des Moines and taught school in Shenandoah and Aurelia before her marriage to Earl Young
Relatives surviving are her husband. Earl Young, a son. David Smith, both of Milwaukee; her parents. Milton and Edith Wixcel; her brother. Lloyd Wixcel and family; her sister, Mrs. Ruth Hoff of., Pomona. Calif., her aunt. Mrs Nora Day of Pasadena, Calif, an aunt, Mae Barnes and family, of Omaha; an aunt Allie of Marcus and many other cousins.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 10, at the Chapel of the Nelson Funeral Home in Marcus. Rev. George Pimlott of the Marcus Methodist Church officiated. Two hymns, "Beyond the Sunset"and "No Right There," were sung by Mrs., Delmar Drefke and Mrs Lee Barnes r Mrs Doctor Hobson accompanied.
Burial was in Marcus-Amherst cemetery. Pallbearers were Lloyd Barnes, Vern Barnes, Wayne Barnes, Lee Barnes, Dclmer Drefke and Garness Mundy.
Attending the services were Earl Young. David Smith, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs S. M. Wixcel, Lloyd Wixcel and family, of Waterloo; Elmer Young of Cedar Rapids.. Mrs Floyd Barnes and Laurel Russell of Omaha; Frank Everhart and family of Eagle Grove, Dr and Mrs. E. J Raw from, Pierson, Mr and Mrs. Lee Barnes Mr and Mrs. Garness Mundy all of Paullina; Mr. and Mrs Tex Barnes, Primghar; Mr and Mrs V Walter Randolph of Primghar; Glen Kinton of Primghar, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wilson of Sioux City; Mrs. John Bryant, Sioux City; Mrs Hans Raun, Mrs Neva Turkleson. also of Sioux City; Mrs. Dorothy Fry of LeMars, and Mrs. Marian Pierce of Cherokee.
