Obituary for William McGlothlin
Mr. Hadley McGlothlin, age 73, of the Fletchers Ridge section of Vansant, Virginia, passed away Thursday (December 29, 2011) in a Kingsport, Tennessee hospital. Born May 12, 1938 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Elder Andrew and Pearl Honaker McGlothlin. A lifelong resident of the area, he was of the Primitive Baptist faith. A disabled coal miner, he had formerly been employed by Island Creek Coal Company and was a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant son, Teddy McGlothlin, two sisters, Joyce McGlothlin and Vinnie McGlothlin and two brothers, Hyder McGlothlin and Fred McGlothlin.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Keen McGlothlin of the home; one daughter, Melissa Reynolds and husband, Earl of Stinson Ridge; one son, Ralph McGlothlin and wife, Miranda of Fletchers Ridge; step-children, Betty Sue Woodward and husband, Donnie of Bristol, Gertrude Keen, Martha Ann Campbell and husband, Bounce, Rita Faye Blankenship and husband, Keith, Tina Lynn Keen, Diane Cook and husband, Ronnie, and Joe Keen and wife, Wanda all of Rowe, Franklin Keen and wife, Rebal of Grundy, and Margaret Ann Blankenship and husband, Ronnie of Abingdon; two sisters, Martha Ball of Honaker and Dollie Compton and husband, Eugene of Lebanon; five brothers, Wayne McGlothlin, Dallas McGlothlin and wife, Lizzie, Memphis McGlothlin and wife, Judy, and Carlis McGlothlin all of Honaker, and Rean McGlothlin and wife, Faye of Fletchers Ridge, Virginia; two grandchildren, Rochelle Deel and husband, Jonathan, and Nathan Reynolds; one great-grandchild, Westen Deel; fourteen step-grandchildren, seventeen step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker Virginia with Elder Garnell Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the McGlothlin Cemetery on Stinson Ridge, Virginia.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Friday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. Ancil Childress officiating.
