Machine. Alvin B. Norvell, the Detroit Inventor of a ventilator which carries off objectionable gases, Is tho hunband of a Georgia woman. His wife is the daughter of !Dr. J. KIncald, of Rome, Ga. She was married to the Inventor about three years ago. Mrs. Norvell is also a sister In law of the late Dr. J. Harris ChappelL ao well known in this state. The following is from a Detroit paper In regard to Air. Norvell's Invention: "Alvin B. Norvell, of this city, Is' the Inventor of a ventilator for which he claims many advantages. The device consists of two metal plates revolving one upon the other, operated toy a small ratchet. The ventilator is placed near the ceiling of a house and the outside of the device is so constructed that rain or snow cannot enter it. "It is an established fact that carbon dioxide, although heavier than air, expands with heat and rises to the top of a room, so that the ventilator is placed high up in order to carry off this and other objectionable gases.
