Glenn William Schafer went to be with the Lord Jesus on December 27, 2011, in Nampa, Idaho at the age of 97.
Glenn was born October 11, 1914 to Mr. and Mrs. George Schafer of Danube, Minnesota. He was reared in Minnesota and was a graduate of St. Paul Bible Institute. He married his sweetheart of 66 years, Ada Marietta (Fischer) Schafer, on June 12, 1944.
Glenn served in Christian ministry in the Church of the Nazarene for almost 50 years, in Minnesota, Oregon, California and Idaho. Glenn loved God above all, but his wife, family and church were a close second. He loved people and was found being with people having a cup of coffee, working on cars, or visiting in hospitals.
Glenn is survived by his daughter, Jilayne Adams, of Irvine, California; daughter-in-law, Beth Schafer, of Boise; his five grandchildren: Leigh Ann, of Boise, Rik, of California, David, of Boise, Candace, of California and Wendy, of California; as well as 11 great-grandchildren.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Schafer, of Nampa, Idaho and his son, Lee Schafer, of Boise, and his two siblings, Warren Schafer and Grace Kraft.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2012, at the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, in Nampa. Interment will be held at Kohlerlawn Cemetery at a later date.Friends may call at the funeral chapel on Friday, January 6, 2012 from 5-8 p.m.
