McALESTER — Rosina "Rosie" Harris, 71, of McAlester, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, in McAlester.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Crowson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester.
Born Aug. 8, 1939, in Sand Springs, she was the daughter of Lowell and Hazel (Guynn) Chambers. She graduated from Sand Springs High School with the Class of 1957.
She cooked for many years at local restaurants, hotels and Oklahoma State Penitentiary.
She enjoyed fishing, bird watching, family and friends.
She was a minister of the non-denomination faith.
Survivors include brothers, Clyde Chambers, of Hugo, and Gene Chambers, of Sand Springs; sisters, Louise Wagnon, of Krebs, Eunice Campbell, of Hugo, and Patty Rodgers, of Hugo, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Hazel Chambers; brothers, Bill Chambers, Warren Chambers and Glenn Chambers, and husband, Augusta "Otto" Harris.
Memorials may be made to Diabetes Association, Soup Kitchen at the First Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
