Leona A. Slirzewski, 65, of Lafayette St. Utica, died Wednesday, November 2, 1983, at the Faxton Hospital.
She was born in Utica, a daughter of Harry and Grace Avery Hall and attcndcd local schools. She had once been employed at the Globe Woolen Mill, the Utica Knit and Dunlop Tire. She also was a cook for various local families. Most recently, she was employed by the Utica Psychiatric Center, retiring in 1976, after 25 years of service. She was a member of the L.S.E.A.
She was married to Edward Slirzewski in Utica in 1907. He died in 1932.
Leona is survived by a daughter Phylllis Dhura, Holland Patent; two sisters. Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Millbower, Baldwinsville, Mrs. Kenneth (Hazel) Ash, Boston; a granddaughter, Mrs. Lynn Butler, Ilion; grandson, E. J. Dziura, Holland Patent; several nieces and nephews including Edward Bickford, Utica.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Lois Monica Slirzewski in 1957.
Her funeral will be held on Friday at 10 am. from the Myslinski Kuner Funeral home, Montgomery Street, with the Rev. Msgr. Stanley Skrzypek officialng. Burial will be in Holy Cross Polsh National Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9.
