William "Bil" J Davis, 83, graduated from Olney High School in 1936. He served in the US Army from 1943-1945. He received the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

William Davis married Maenon Rhodes on 1 February 1963 at Perryton, Texas.

He was employed as an operating engineer for a pipeline construction company in Texas and New Mexico. He was later owner/operator of D&L Well Service at Perryton. He moved to Breckenridge in 1965 where he and his wife operated Mr. D's Young American Shop until the company closed in 1972.

He was a member of the Breckenridge Rotary Club, Wichita Falls Masonic Lodge, Joseph A Kemp Chapter, Scottish Rite in Dallas and the Khiva Shrine Temple. He was a Methodist.

Survived by his wife.

He was preceded in death by one sister.
