Daniel or Tanali Lamberg was the son of Johan and Maria (Ahonen) Lamberg. Born in Finland's Viipuri province, he had four older siblings: Petter, Anders, Judit, and Matti Lamberg.
On April 1, 1877, Daniel married Anna Pulkkanen in Lahenkylä. They had five children, sons Antti (Andrew), Aleksanter, and Emil, and daughters Juuetta and Helena.
Daniel was one of the founding settlers of Toivola.
