Marjorie Ellen was the daughter of Edwin and Annie Stannett. She grew up in Taplow. She went into service in the Taplow area as a young woman. She moved to Swanscombe after WWI and lived at Galley Hill, later moving to Sweyne Road. During WWII she worked as a postwoman in Swanscombe. She was a keen gardener, and was particularly keen on growing strawberries.
In later life she moved into a sheltered flat in Swanscombe, before moving to Taplow to share a house with her sisters in the 1970s.
After the onset of dementia she moved into a residential home in Slough where she died 24.7.1983. She was cremated at Slough Crematorium.
