Brother Dempsey Caldwell was born August10,1927 to Johnnie and Lennie Caldwell in Garfield, Texas.He married Willida Young in 1945.To this union,4 children were born.Lula,Lennie,Amanda,and Dempsey Jr(Deda).He was A kindhearted man who never met a stranger and who showed empathy and understanding to all.He joined Blacks Memorial Baptist Church in 1975 under the leadership of Pastor A.L.Patton and was installed as a deacon in 1994.He was an active member until his health failed him.He also leave eight grandchildren, Eugene (Duke)Hawkins,Karen Hawkins of Austin,Tx. Shauna (Brandy) Hawkins of Houston,Tx.Kevin Caldwell,Johnny R. Hunter,Jason King,Brandon Christian Caldwell,and Brian Quinn Caldwell, all of Austin,seven great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. "When tomorrow starts without me,don't think we're far apart,For every time you think of me,I'm right here in your heart".
