Elizabeth Onions was a British Home Child. She was born on December 16, 1908 in Wolverhampton, England, the daughter of David Onions and his wife Julia Lewett. At the time of the 1911 England Census, Elizabeth was living with her parents and older sister Flora as lodgers at 151 /153 Stafford St Wolverhampton.

At age 15, Elizabeth was brought to Canada by the Catholic Emigration Society. She arrived at Quebec on July 21, 1923 aboard the S.S. Montcalm, and was taken with her travel party to St. George's Home in Ottawa. Elizabeth died of tuberculosis on February 17, 1929. She was buried at Notre Dame on February 18, 1929.
