He immigrated to the United States on 14 May 1907 on the ship S. S. Cedric. He was one of seven children in the family of which we have record. The SS Cedric departed from Queenstown and landed in New York City. He joined his other two brothers, Michael John FitzGerald and Denis M. FitzGerald and was located on a 1910 U. S. Census as residing in Troy, Rennsselaer, New York where he was employed as a collar turner in a shirt factory. In later years, he was residing in Brocton, Chautauqua, New York and was employed as the superintendant of the Brocton Fruit Products Company. He registered with the Selective Service ("draft") Board in Brocton, New York 18 September 1918. Color of eyes: blue. Color of hair: brown. Medium height and medium build. Next of kin: Richard FitzGerald (his father) who was residing in Hospital, Limerick, Ireland at that time. He was also listed as a naturalized American citizen at the time of the registration. In later years, family knowledge reported that he "… went to Texas and disappeared." Further genealogy research revealed that he died of coronary thrombosis at the age of 63 years in San Antonio, Bexar, Texas. His reported address was 318 South Brazos Street, San Antonio, Texas. His occupation at time of death was certified accountant. He had been living at that residence location five months according to the person who reported his death, Nazario Castro. He was buried in the San Fernando Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. Name of the Funeral Director: Frank Cortez. Physician who signed the death certificate: T. T. Parker, 700 San Pedro Avenue, San Antonio, Texas. Burial date: 30 March 1946. Dr. Parker reported that he last saw Lawrence FitzGerald alive on 27 March 1946 and his date of death 29 March 1946.
